The National Indigenous 3on3 Basketball and Hip Hop Challenge – the Vibe 3on3® – will be holding a special NAIDOC Week event in Casula in Sydney's west on 30 June, with Penrith Panthers star player Maurice Blair making a guest appearance.

Maurice will join the event for the whole day, mingling with youth and passing on some valuable experience, encouragement and words of wisdom.

Born in Queensland, Maurice made his NRL debut in 2007 and has gone on to establish himself as a talented utility player, starring mostly in the centres.

Also on hand to entertain the crowd will be local boy, Indigenous hip hop artist Brotha Black, the event's MC.

Registrations are still open, and you can also register on the day from 8.30am at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.

The Vibe 3on3® brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous people for a fun free day of basketball, dancing, music, health and culture. The event encourages sportsmanship, teaches new skills and builds self-esteem, as well as promoting reconciliation at a grassroots level.

The action-packed event features a 3on3 basketball tournament, rapping and break dancing lessons, art workshops, a dance competition and a health expo, all accompanied by a backing track of the latest RnB, hip hop and Indigenous music.

The event will be held at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, 1 Casula Road, on Wednesday, 30 June 2010.

The Vibe 3on3® would not be possible without our sponsors Rio Tinto Aboriginal Foundation, the Department of Health and Ageing through the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Vibe Australia.

We also thank our supporters the Koori Mail, Deadly Sounds and Deadly Vibe.
