Casey Donovan

Casey won all our hearts in 2004, taking out the top prize in Australian Idol. With a voice strong enough to move mountains and an appealing, down-to-earth nature, Casey was also a shoe-in for the Most Promising New Talent in Music award at the Deadlys 2004.
Music is in Casey’s blood, with the extended Donovan clan known for their musical exploits, and she has come a long way from when she first picked up the guitar at age 14 and taught herself how to play the three chord country tunes she’d grown up with. A natural songwriter, Casey decided to start entering music competitions and, after winning the Young Black and Deadly Award, she knew she wanted to pursue a career as a singer and songwriter.
In December 2004, following her Idol win, Casey released her highly anticipated debut album For You, produced by Bryon Jones (Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll) which featured the hit singles Listen With Your Heart, What’s Going On? and Flow. Casey then went on to win Single and Artist of the Year at the 2005 Deadly Awards.
2005 also saw Casey take part in the Fred Hollows Foundation See Australia Challenge, during which she visited some of the communities where The Foundation works as part of their Indigenous Health Program, operating in the Jawoyn region, east of Katherine.
Casey has performed all across Australia at a variety of events, including the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and a number of solo gigs around Sydney and Melbourne, and continues to focus on her songwriting, with a new album expected in the near future.
Casey has recently released her new E.P titled Eye 2 Eye. As well as performing at the 3on3, Casey has recently been involved with singing workshops in cooperation with the Talent Development Project.
